Reading a public tender notice
Where to find the facts that decide whether a bid is worth preparing.
1. Scope and lots
Identify exactly what is being bought and whether the contract is split into lots you can bid for separately.
2. Value and duration
Note the estimated value, contract length and any extension options. If no value is published, do not assume one.
3. Selection and award criteria
Separate pass/fail requirements (financial standing, certifications) from the scored criteria that decide the winner.
4. Timetable
Record the clarification deadline, submission deadline and expected award date in one place.
